Do as Jesus Did (April 13,2020)

"The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God." Acts 1:1-3

The Book of Acts is the sequel to the Gospel of Luke.  When Luke wrote the book of Acts, Jesus had already died, was buried, and resurrected from the dead.

All that Jesus began to do and teach

Jesus didn’t just teach- He did.  He did and taught.  Jesus didn’t just talk about it; He was about it. Jesus finished the work that the Father gave Him to do on the earth; yet when Luke began writing the book of Acts, he spoke of all that Jesus began to teach and do.  Jesus did more than anyone ever did in three and a half years of ministry; yet Luke said, “He was only beginning.”

In fact, He never stopped- He is still doing and teaching.  Jesus is still saving people, touching people, healing people, delivering people, setting people free, and teaching people through His Word and by the Holy Spirit.  Jesus is still transforming lives today. Not just in Jerusalem and in Hayward, but across the world.  The finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross is the gift that keeps on giving, the sacrifice that keeps saving, and the blood that keeps cleansing. All these, and Jesus isn’t even close to being done.

All that Jesus began to do and teach

Through the Resurrection, Jesus came back to life and we now have life through Him.  Jesus is the Author and the Finisher of our faith. He is still teaching us, and He is still doing things on earth and in our lives today.  He is still teaching us how to live a life that is pleasing to God and how to love our neighbor as ourselves.  He is shaping and molding us into His likeness through the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit who now lives within us.  We must follow His example and we are to be about our Father’s business- doing kingdom works and teaching kingdom principles.  Jesus did and taught, so should we!

He is Risen just as He said!

Much Blessings & Love, Amazingly Graced, Your Servant,
